I've been given a query to build a universe over.
I enter all the connection details as per usual, test the connection and get the server is responding message.
However, once I try to continue and generate the universe, I get the following connection error:
Error getting dimensions for cube ZACTMP01/ZACTMP01_Q0001 (catalog ZACTMP01): Maximum number (50) of drilldown characteristics is exceeded
After clicking OK, I get a blank universe - no schema as expected but no class structure either.
Has any encountered this before? Do I have to push back on the developer and ask for a smaller query for example?
Hi ,
Check the query is working fine in BI Analyzer before developing a universe . I think the problem is on the Bi side .

Hai Mark,
What is your source for universe?

Hi,
I hope you do not want to view Key Fields against all these characteristics at the same time.
So, you better keep most of the chars in free chracteristics and then after the first view of the query, you can do drill down and carry out the required analysis.
Hope this helps,
All the best,
Madhu...
