IE9 and SAP Gui 7.20

Hi Everyone

I see that SAP GUI 7.20 patch level 5 has been released.

Also, IE9 is now released.

My question is:

Are the two compatible? Can I install IE9 without having the SAP GUI crash like it did with the RC of IE9.

Seriously need to install IE9 as it seems a much better browser than IE8 but have to use SAP GUI as well.

I know I can test it by installing IE9 but if someone has done it please share your experience?

Thanks

Hello

at this time the IE9 is not released for the use with the sapgui 720.

If the IE9 is released for the use with the sapgui 720, we will update the note

You ca use the IE9 but you do this at your own risk ( at the moment )

Just for more info on this topic. The patch gui720_05_1-10007878 has been released today.

It still has problems when IE 9 installed.

I use it with SCM 5,1 Trans LC10 => pressing button LiveCache Monitoring(F5) causes SAPGui to exit without errors.

Same workaround can be usede: set visual design "Classic Theme" and the problem seems not to appear anymore.

Hello Jaime,

I'm 99,9% sure, that you still use the RC version of IE9 and not the RTW/RTM.

Please look in the about dialog in IE9 -what does it say there? RC or RTW/RTM?

Regards,

Martin

Ok, I've taken the plunge. Installed the latest version of 7.20 with patch 5.

Then installed IE9 and so far so good.

The SAP GUI seems to be working well. It's not crashing where it used to with the IE9 RC.

Transactions that I've used and are working fine are SE80. Created and edited the layout of an ABAP WebDynpro.

Transaction SFP seems fine including using the Adobe Livecycle Designer.

Not sure what else I can test so that's it from me for now.
