DB13 backup problem

Dear Experts,

I am new to SAp, trying to do BRBACKUP (disk) with DB13.

I changed parameters in initSID.sap file, as fallows

backup_mode = all

restore_mode = all

backup_type = offline

backup_dev_type = disk

backup_root_dir = /oracle/ECD/sapbackup

backup_root_dir = /oracle/ECD/sapbackup

compress = no

When i tried from DB13 , it is asking for Tape again.

DB13 > Whole database offline backup > Tapes for Database backup.

how can ichange my DBbackup type from Tape to Disk.

Please suggest...

Yes i did restarting the server but its not changing to disk from tape.

can u tel me the procedure on how to change backup from tape to disk.

Hi,

The parameter:

backup_dev_type = disk

Should target the backup to disk.

During the backup using DB13, do you put another initSID.sap file?

iam using same initSID.sap file only. is there any option to change from tape to disk in Tcode :DB13.

Hi,

In DB13, there are no options to change backup destination. All configuration is handled in file init<SID>.sap.

Please double check that you choose offline backup in DB13.

Just ignore that screen (leave it blank) and select the wright init<sid>.sap profile and continue
