Time change issue

Former Member

Hi folks ,

We had an issue with one of our system

After this day light saving change (Mar 13th ,3AM),

One of our Bw proces chain triggered on old time, which actually need to start 1hr late as per new timings.

I checked my STZAC , It is fine ( MST )

In the system status . I find some interesting field:

SYSTEM TIME: Matches with my present client location time

MST : Which is 1hr less than my standard time .

I think because of this , the process chain got triggered 1hr in advance.

Guys , Please do suggest me on resolving the issue

Go to https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/198411

Download the attachment,

login to client 000 as non sap user.

execute report TZCUSTIM. Show the path of tzdata.dat. After upload this will adjust the time zone settngs in your BW system.

Use this t-code to check any discrepencies.

STZAC Maintain time zone Customizing

STZAD Display time zone Customizing

STZBC Maintain time zone basis Customizing

Check your system time and current time after a while.

Hi,

Make sure that user time zone should be similar to one in STZAC.

Thanks

Hi,

I think batch jobs will always use the system timezone. If you have different application servers, Can you check if there any timezone differences?

Hi Sandy,

I would like to ask you if you did any restart of your system during daylight time change?

SAP recommends to shutdown the system during this time change and start it up after the time is changed.

Please refer to SAP note: 438660, 7417 and 102088 for the same.

If you did not do that, then, first check your settings in STZAC and make it correct if anything seems to be

wrong and also synch the time in operating system and of-course in application servers as other experts

suggested.

Then taking suitable downtime try restarting SAP system. Problem should be resolved.

If still it is there please let us know.

Regards,

Sujit,
