Uninstall Patch set 10.2.0.5

HI All,

We are having issues as we are unable to shutdown the database.Can any one please let us know as to how to uninstall the patch set 10.2.0.5.I went into OUI and clicked on deinstalled products.But unable to find as to how to uninstall the patch set.Thanks.

Hi,

Getting an error ORA-01096: program version (10.2.0.5.0) incompatible with instance (10.2.0.4.0.

Hi,

Have you tried shutdown abort;

Then run relink.

Try starting again.

Uninstalling a patch should be on the readme.html that came with the patch

Looks like you have updated your Oracle software, but didn't execute the post processing to patch the database itself..

Can you check your Oracle version with the following command: select comp_name, status, version from dba_registry

Hi Mark,

Thnaks for the response.I am unable to shutdown oracle.Thats the whole problem.I cannot shutdown oracle since the software is mismatchitng with the one data files have.

Hi Mark,

Oracle is up and running but still this is the problem.

SQL> select comp_name, status, version from dba_registry

2 ;

select comp_name, status, version from dba_registry

*

ERROR at line 1:

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

I cannot login into oracle since oracle database files are poiting to 10.2.0.4 and binaries are pointing to 10.2.0.5.Thanks.

Hi,

What is the systems OS ?

So when in sqlplus you cannot shutdown abort.

What oracle processes have you running at the moment

Can you paste the last few hundred of db log.

Can you execute the following command: select open_mode from v$database

Hi Mark,

As i said earlier i cannot the query anything from the database.

The issue got resolved by rebooting the machine.
