Error Message on Easy DMS

Hi

We are getting this error message on Easy DMS when we try to save new documents "Classification data can only be maintained using a change number"

Please assist.

Dear Charity,

based on the mentioned error message I think that the reason for this

is not a missing authorization but maybe due to the customizing settings

for the classification (class type 017). Because the error message

indicates that the classification needs to be done in combination with

a change number. And I think that this is not possible from EasyDMS

side.

When you run transaction ST01 and turn authorization trace on you should be able to find out if any

authorization check is failing in Easy DMS (e.g. object C_TCLA_BKA).

We have been experiencing a similar problem. We are getting this error message when trying to create a new DIR via BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2. It seems to only happen at random, and it never happened before our recent upgrade.

Since it seems random, I am suspecting a race condition (timing problem) in the way the BAPI handles classification data, and since it never happened before our last upgrade, I also am suspecting that this is a newly introduced bug.

We just upgraded to Enhancement Pack 4. More specifically we upgraded from:

Did you manage to find a solution to the classification error? We are still experiencing the same problem and struggling with the solution.

the same problem was facing last week in my SAP Environment also,,,

Can you give me some detail about your environment ???

In my system it resolved by doing some activity...

My environment is

SAP R/3(Ehp 4) EA-PLM Activated

Easy DMS (Latest version 7.1 SP 2)

this is only work arround...

first check in R/3 DMS (it is working in my environment)

then Easy DMS (it gives error)

pls assign SAP_ALL profile to your user,

then check ,

the same Activity in R/3 DMS and after in EasyDMS (pls upgrade EasyDMS to 7.1 sp 2 for further check)

if it is working properly then i will provide you the solution which i was implemented...

Sorry am reviving an old thread here!!

But are you sure that this isn't an authorization issue? Because in my case,superusers are able to successfully transact in easyDMS,its only general user group that is encountering this error.Would appreciate a resolution approach for this peculiar scenario.
