set up replication enqueue server

Hi folks,

I have a doubt about the set up replication enqueue server - JAVA.

I know I have to separate the SCS enqueue, install a standalone enqueue sever (web as java) but my doubt is:

do the new standalone enqueue server have to be created with the same SID of the Central Instance?

for example: My CI SID is -> DCA

My new standalone server (that will receive the SCS from CI ) is -> DCA ????

I have already read these links and OSS Note below but they are not clear for me:

821904 - Separating SCS instances for ABAP and J2EE

You can install the standalone SCS under the SID you want to.. Just make sure that the ESR runs under the same SID.

To keep it more transparent, you could install the SCS under the /usr/sap/SID of the java instance.

Hi Mark,

What do you mean ESR?

Other poitn that I did no t understand was:

"you could install the SCS under the /usr/sap/SID of the java instance.". When you say SCS it means the SCS from CI, don't you?

Thank you,
