SOAMANAGER - How to set Basic Authentication to use Alias/Internet User?

I've created a webservice and configured it in SOAMANAGER. Even though I can set the Transport Channel Authentication to be User ID/Password (Basic Authentication) I don't see how to set it to treat the User ID as an alias. For example I have an external user who knows that his alias is myAlias and password is TEST123 but he doesn't know his real SAP username. I'd want the service to authenticate against myAlias / TEST123.

I can get this behavior to work using SICF and setting the Authentication to 'Internet User' but every time I change a SOAMANAGER configuration I have to also change this SICF setting since it reverts back to 'Standard SAP User'. Is there a way to configure this through SOAMANAGER instead since that seems the appropriate place to set this type of security.

thanks!

Paul

Paul,

Did you check if this can be done thru JCo security settings? There are 2 JCo connections, metadata and modeldata.

Thanks,

Hi,

As per my knowledge you can only control this using SICF.
