add Local printer

Dear Sir,

I need some help to add in the printer inside SAP 4.0 component. the printer is suppose my default printer which i assign inside computer printers and fax. Can i know how to do that.

Hi Aishash,

Please go to tcode SPAD.

Create a new printer as Local, short name you can give as LOCL.

You can choose Device Type as HPLJ4 (or whatever is available).

Device class will be "Standard Printer".

In "Access Method" tab, in Host Spool Access Method: choose F:Printing on frontend computer.

And Host Printer: __default.

Other fields you can leave as it is or you can fill it.

Ashish,

Please try few things:

1. Try changing the device type as G: Front End printing with Control Tech.

2. Use host printer as: _default.

3. Try removing space in the printer name if any.

Let us know quickly if its working. Otherwise we will check some SAP notes.

Just forgot to add, use Host Printer: __default (Double underscore) instead of single underscore.

hi mr srikrishnan,

thanks for your reply. i have made it and putting host printer as _DEFAULT. so that it will print my default printer on our internal pc. and putting access method C. but now the error is incorrect (error when sending data) i saw formatting is INCH11. now you think what was the problem?
