Hi Experts,

I have to apply support packages in Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1.

Currently the status of SOLMAN package levels are:-

SAP_ABA 701 0005 SAPKA70105

SAP_BASIS 701 0005 SAPKB70105

PI_BASIS 701 0005 SAPK-70105INPIBASIS

ST-PI 2008_1_700 0002 SAPKITLRD2

CRMUIF 500 0004 SAPK-50004INCRMUIF

SAP_BW 701 0005 SAPKW70105

SAP_AP 700 0018 SAPKNA7018

BBPCRM 500 0015 SAPKU50015

BI_CONT 704 0006 SAPK-70406INBICONT

CPRXRPM 400 0013 SAPK-40013INCPRXRPM

ST 400 0022 SAPKITL432

ST-A/PI 01L_CRM570 0000 -

ST-ICO 150_700 0021 SAPK-1507LINSTPL

ST-SER 701_2008_2 0004 SAPKITLOQ4

At this stage when I tried to update support packages (SAP_BASIS/SAP_BW/SAP_ABA/.....) below message received-

In the queue there are Support Packages that require the installation or

upgrade of software component versions.

The list below shows you which component versions are needed. If a note

is specified in the Note column, be sure to have a look at this as it

contains important information about upgrading and installing this

software component.

Component Release Note required by Support Package

ST-A/PI 01M_CRM570 n.a. SAPKITL433

ST-SER 701_2010_1 n.a. SAPKITL433

The installation and upgrade of software components can be done with the

Add-On Installation Tool (transaction SAINT), which can be started using

the menu path Environment -> Add-On Installation Tool. Since it is able

to include additional Support Packages into an installation queue, you

can import all neccessary packages with one combined Installation and

Support Package queue there.

Check if the relevant installation or upgrade packages are already

available in the system. If not, download them from the Software

Distribution Center on the SAP Service Marketplace

Then you can start the installation in the Add-On Installation Tool.

Please guide me the steps to Add components ST-A/PI 01M_CRM570 & ST-SER 701_2010_1

Thanks in advance.

Hi Deepak,

you can download the packages at SMP: http://service.sap.com/supporttools

Go to ST/A-PI => Installations and upgrades

Download the package and upload the package to your sap server using transaction saint for installation and upload.

For ST-SER go to http://service.sap.com/swdc

Installations and upgrades => Search for installations and upgrades => Search for ST-SER 701_2010_1

Download the package and upload the package to your sap server using transaction saint for installation and upload.

After Going through SAINT-> Load Packages -> Fronm frontend

And when click to Start, In box shows 'No Installation packages are available'

Please advice what we need to do next...

Hello,

if there are no installation packages available then I think you have uploaded an upgrade/support package and not an installation package. In this case please check transaction SPAM using Display/Define button to define a new queue. Select ST/PI or ST-A/PI to add the packages to the queue. If this is possible you can import the queue (menu support packages => import queue).

Hope this works! Best regards, Basti

Hi

I verified your prerequests and dependencies.

ST-A/PI 01M_CRM570 requires

Component Release Value

BBPCRM 500 T

SAP_BASIS 700 T

and ST-SER 701_2010 requires

Main Components

Component Release Value

SAP_BASIS 701 T

Support Packages

Package Value

SAPKITL433 T

SAPKITLRD2 T

Add-On Components

Add-On Release Value

ST 400 T

ST-PI 2008_1_700 T

ST-SER 701_2008_2 T

Seems your already existed stacks met the dependency.

Hence please first define the queue for ST-SET 701_2010 after proceed with ST-A/PI 01M. It should work if you get the proper installation packages.

Please proceed

Thanks,

Hi jansi,

As per your guidance, I was trying as -

1) ST-SER - 701_2010

for this required packages KITLRD2 was applied already & KITL433 is in /trans/EPS/in.

But I am not able to define queue to apply ST-SER-701_2010

2) Same status here happened here in ST-A/PI 01M_CRM570 case.

I have copied required level of BBPCRM in /trans/EPS/in.

Please advice.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Same Support Packages (SPs) need other SPs for installation. This is requisites for SPs.

I sugest that you calculate the correct queue in SM and select automatic calculation. With this step you are right that all SPs are included in queue.

How you can view the dependece of SP? You need extract the SP for SAP system and then in SPAM you can see the dependences BUT my sugestion is ... USING SM for correct queue.

Deepak,

the last time i applied support packs stack 24 to SolMan EHP1 i used txn SAINT for all the packs as well as the st tools. you might as well apply a complete stack if its available.

Also ensure you read note 822379 and check every OSS note that is applicable to your system setup i.e. database used and current support pack level you have, and any note SAINT recommends to read . it will save you a lot of heart ache later if you read this and plan it forward.

Make sure you also use the latest kernel, latest SAPCAR, R3trans and TP commands too

Hello Deepak,

You can use Maintenance Optimizer and generate an XML to be read by SAINT and JSPM.
