'The transferred input parameter contains an illegal value' error with MOPZ

Former Member

I'm trying to calculate my queue for an ERP EHP4 with Netweaver EHP1 import and I get the above error when maintenance optimizer is trying to calculate the 'Select OS/DB-Dependent Files' stage.

Forgot to mention that this was working earlier today.

Hello all,

The error you report is related to the PPMS data transferred from Maintenance Optimizer to the SAP backend service systems.

Apparently there was a fix some time ago for some backend issues, and the parameters needed for some components/products was changed at the backend.

Now there are issues with scenarios unforeseen at the time of the original fix.

There is nothing you can do from your end to solve this, I will try to notify everyone when the issue is solved.

Best regards,

Hello there,

Sorry, no time frame for a possible resolution has been given yet.

I will post here as soon as I learn any news of a solution. Up to then , you may open a support message if you wish, but there is really no way of avoiding the issue with actions on your side to try to make Maintenance Optimizer work.

Hi Miguel,

i have a customer waiting for the xml and the patches to be implemented.

I cannot downlaod them via service.sap.com/swdc, because its ehp4 related.

Regards,

Jan

PS: I got a SAP-message which says its already fixed.

Try to redo the "landscape_fetch" job and will let you know if this is the solution.

OK. Still the same situation... does not work.

Dear Mr. Tschofen,

The issue in the backend calculation which lead to the error

"The transferred input parameter contains an illegal value"

is now solved.

Could you please try again recreating the mopz transaction from scratch?

Thanks for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience this caused.

Thanks and best regards,

WORKING NOW!

Thank you for your kind patience.

An enhancement for the calculation was introduced to support

the support package range, but it has a side effect on some special

cases, like calculation of stack-independent and add-on, which has not

been tested before. Now the problem has been fixed in SAP backend

system.

Please create a new maintenance optimizer transaction to check if

the error "The transferred input parameter contains an illegal value"

is resolved.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Thanks very much and kind regards,

Thanks to all.

Hello,

The fix is not something you can download, it is a fix to be applied to the SAP service systems that serve the files and dependency checks for Maintenance Optimizer.

The issue was thought to be fixed , but it appears that some scenarios are still not covered by the fix that was put in place this friday.

I will inform further when there are news about this. It looks like there will be no one able to look into this issue on the weekend, so please check back on Monday.

Hello,

I was not informed of additional changes in the SAP Service Backbone but somehow reports of the error have stopped, so I assume that something was changed, and that the issue is solved for good.

Best regards,

Miguel Ariñ

Hello

By any chance are you on ST 400 SP25?

If so you want to ensure you have SAP Note 1485385 - MOpz: Collective corrections 25

installed on your system. And double check your SMSY entries are valid.

Paul

Hi nirmal,

Ticket is on the way. My guess is SAP needs at least 4-6 hours to respond.

Still no change on the situation.
