Role copied from template role SAP_XI_IR_SERV_USER not working

Hi Experts,

We have an XI environment where user needs to access Integration Builder : design (Integration Repository) after executing the transaction sxmb_ifr . We found they need to have access the RFC authorization availble in SAP_XI_IR_SERV_USER . And it works but when we have tried to copied it to a customized role (Z*) and assign it them --the users are getting no authorization error. St01 trace also not giving much information.The role is having S_RFC authorization only.

As per template role description we have PIREPUSER user assigned with this template role.

Can you please suggest why this copied role is not working ?

Do we need to consider anything else while coping this XI role.

Hi,

XI roles in SAP NW AS ABAP are also available as corresponding user groups in SAP NW AS Java which in turn contains Java roles in Java UME. While copying the SAP delivered ABAP role make sure the corresponding Java user group that is created is also mapped with appropriate Java roles in UME as in the case of SAP_XI_IR_SERV_USER.

If you are on PI 7.0, customised roles also need to be added in Visual Admin (Server> Services> Security Provider> Runtime> Policy configuration) by selecting the application and adding the role under Security roles tab."
