Dear all,
on our ERP system we had an issue that led to several short dumps per second. As a consequence table SNAP increased heavily. The table did contain so many entries that even the tablespace needed to be extended to avoid that the tablespace gets full.
I am searching for a solution to define a size limit for table SNAP.
I know the possibilities of reorganization like report RSSNAPDL etc.
But I want to be proactive and define a limit - like a rolling intervall.
I am glad to hear about your proposal and your ideas.
Thanks and best regards,
Ingo
Hi Ingo,
I don't think its possible to limit the size of your SNAP table, but theres other ways of proactive monitoring like CCMS.
You could maintain MTE's R3AbapShortdumpsFreq and R3AbapShortdumps to send you alerts so you can take action before you get the awful "SNAP_NO_NEW_ENTRY" dump..
Also having your housekeeping jobs running should guarantee that SNAP is kept in good condition.
Regards
Juan
