Hi,

I am pretty new to SAP BASIS and I have a IDES installed and the SAP services running successfully.

Can someone help me with this issue that I face when I try to log into the SAP NetWeaver Administrator link at :

http://<servername>:8000/index.html

and I get this error:

Details: com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.ExceptionInfo: Naming error.

I have checked the logs at D:\usr\sap\<instance>\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\system

And I see the following:

Are there any other logs that I can check?

Before the above error came up I believe that I have entered a wrong username / password too many times probably.

All help will be highly appreciated. Suggestion of any SAP Notes, etc. will be very useful.

Thanks.

Manish

Hello,

If you want to connect to ABAP stack with a browser the easiest way is to activate ITS Webgui.

You should check this link : [ITS WebGUI - Activation (Back End)|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/12ITSWebGUI-Activation(BackEnd)]

I know that I do have the Java stack as there is the folder J2EE within the DEVMSG00 folder.

Is there some place within ABAP from where I can check and verify the port no. etc?

We told you URL so many times why you still insisting on the port number ?

Hi Sunny,

Now I get what you mean. I am able to now see the page at the URL mentioned by you. What I was saying as the port number is basically what you are saying as 50<instance ID(00 in my case)>01.

Also I found the issue that I was facing. It was to do with the J2EE user profile and its validity dates. Once the correct validity dates were entered I was able to see everything running correctly.

I am one more question if you can help me with it: How can I Log into SAP using the Java stack? With the ABAP stack there is this GUI, but is there a standard web page from which we can access SAP?

Thanks for all your help!

Hi Sunny,

Sorry if I am not being clear. I did try to use the 5<instance no>00 but that came up with nothing.

Can you tell me if I am correct in saying that my instance number is something like 8877750? which is what I see as the ID such as ID8877750. So I need to put the URL as

http://<hostname>:5887775000

If this is not correct can you tell me what should be the correct URL? How should it look like?

I think you need to study the basics first.

URL will remain same whatever will be your ID.

It will be http://<hostname>:5<instance no>00.

I doubt now that you have even java stack in the system.

Thanks

Hi Sunny,

When I do that I get "Service cannot be reached"

It says ...

URL http://hostname:8000/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.

I don't understand why are you using port 8000.

Number of times it is mentioned above, port number will be 5<instance no>00.

Thanks

Yes, this is a dual stack system. When using port 5000 the IE says there were connection problem.

Can you please tell me where I can collect the default trace from? I mean the path/location. As mentioned earlier I am pretty much a newbie.

Thanks.

Port 50000, not 5000. The default trace can be found in /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGSXX/j2ee/cluster/server0/log

Hi,

If you want to access java then use the url: http://<hostname>:5<instance no>00

Also, make sure that hostname entry against ip address should be there in system host file where you are launching this URL if hostname entry is not present in DNS server.

Thanks

http://<servername>:8000/index.html

Port 8000 is the ICM web port of the ABAP stack.. The ABAP stack doesn't have an index.html, this is only for java..

Check transaction sicf for ABAP web services that you can access..

In case you have a dual stack system, you can connect to the java stack with http://<servername>:50000/index.html

Kind regards,

Mark

Hi,

Is your IDES dual stack ? What is your database and system release ? Could you please paste log from default trace ?

Thanks
