System Copy Error Export R3LOAD

I have installed SAP EP Portal 7.o , O/s Windows 2003, RDBMS MSSQL

I wanted to System copy ...

I have installed ABAP+JAVA.

After running SAPINST.exe

SAPInstallation Master-> SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Release 3 -> Software Life Cycle Options-> System Copy -> MS SQL Server -> Source System Export -> Central System-> Based On AS ABAP and AS JAVA -> Export Preparation

found error:

CJS-30036 SAP system is ABAP or ABAP+Java system. Cannot switch this to a Java standalone system.

Please pay attention to this error in the log:

WARNING 2011-03-09 01:21:19.901 Found profile of Java instance TRX02 in supposed system based on AS-ABAP UP0.

It's probably the TRX system profile is still in UP0 syste's profile driectory. Please delete any useless profiles from your SAP profile directory. Make a backup for the profile directory to other location (e.g. your own PC) before deletion. Hope this helps.

So are you doing system copy for EP or for ABAP+Java system ? if you are doing copy of EP,it is a Java only system.So you need to select Java.

Firstly please clarify for which system you are doing the system copy?

Is it for ABAP+Java system or pure Java (EP) system?

Please choose the right option.

Please paste the detailed log of SAPINST log if you still face same error.

From your posting what I see is its a ABAP+JAVA system copy and its a central system.

So, please ensure you are using the below path (for me it was Oracle, so giving path as Database Oracle):

Software Life-Cycle Options > System Copy > Oracle > Source System Export > Central System > Based on AS ABAP and AS Java > Database and Central Instance Export.

Secondy, please check we ll while giving the inputs.

The error says:

"Operating system error message: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."

Look into the error.

As I already mentioned . my O/S is Windows 2003, RDBMS is MS SQL and JAVA+ABAP Portal 7.0

I got this error as soon as I started the SAPINST.exe and checking for export... No Input has given Yet.

Please be sure about the system. If it is portal then how come its ABAP is associated with it?

EP is pure Java.

Can you check if there are some other profiles (Instance TRX02) is in profile directory?

Try to move them to some other location.

I had a similar issue.

two things to note here.

1) move all the redundant profiles in profile directory to a backup directory and just keep instance,default and startup profile and try again. This resolved the issue for me

2)Also check in sapservices file if there is awrong entry.

Hi ,

If I understand correctly then you have an EP system as a source system whilst the targert system is ABAPJAVA system. Now that is kinda rare and not many would do that. I reckon in this scenario you need to get Java export and during system copy select your target system as JAVA alone and not ABAPJAVA(SAPinst) but I am not sure how far that is gonna work because I haven't tried that ever. But logically it seems it should work just about right..

Also R3load won't be involved.. I reckon this is a jload and you are getting this error probably coz you have select ABAP+JAVA in SAPinst

If it is the other way i.e source is ABAP+JAVA and target is portal then you might be entering a real messy territory. UME gets screwed and top of that does you JAVA stack have EP content !

I Very much agree with Ruchit. Honestly you are not providing the complete info with regards to the type of source system. From the first error you posted based on the directory structure ,it shows you have selected Java only system and you say the system is ABAP+JAVA. Please clarify these things as everybody is trying to assist you here.
