Cannot initialize Report Engine server. (Error: RWI 00226) (Error: INF )
Environment:
BOBJ : 3.1 Service Pack 3 Fix Pack 3.3
SAP IK (Same service pack and fix Pack)
BW 7 EHP 1
Originally we had a issue sometimes a user click on BOBJ report through KM and get a error SSO ticket expires or incomplete system logon data, we change the portal setting to fully qualified domain restart the boxes and issue is resolved. After those changes has taken place users are getting 'Cannot initialize Report Engine server. (Error: RWI 00226) (Error: INF )' this error when they click on BOBJ report. When checked in CMC all the servers for web Intelligence are working good and same time other users are using reports. The work around to this is close the Portal browser login back and it works. Can some one help to figure out what parameters setting we are missing on bobj or portal side.
Thanks.

Took SSO from the Universe connection and used user and password. Solved the issue but if you are using data level security at bobj it will be a great hassel. Toor.

Hi,
- whats the data source for the report ?
- does the report work without any issues in InfoView ?

All systems are on Full Qualified Domain and trust between all systems had been established and working good. Intresting part is these errors are not consistant. Some users are getting those frequently and some even dont know about them.

Note: This error appears mostly when a user is inactive in the portal for some time and the BOBJ session times out and user close the browser for bobj report. After this is done user want to open the bobj report again. Gets the error "Cannot initialize Report Engine server. (Error: RWI 00226) (Error: INF )". Like I mentioned before the user has to completely logoff from the portal close the browser and log back in to run the report.

Ingo i appreciated that you take a look into the matter. We opened the ticked and finally got the answer that 5 out of 10 times webi initialization error or SSO expired error occurs, since it was unable to pass values through the SSO option used in the universe connections and there is no connection established in the CMC.
Thanks.
