windows clustering environment.

I had done following steps

1. Create Widows cluster successfully and tested.

2. Install the SQL server on Node A by local administrator user. (Node A Administrator, Not a Domain Administrator rights )

3. Maintain the required entries in host file.

4. Star the SAP installation by Domain Administrator user on Node A (logging on Node A by Administrator user of Domain)

in host file I have maintain the 7 IP

1. Domain IP

2. NODE A

3. NODE B

4. CLUSTER IP

5. SQL SERVER IP (virtual server)

I have successfully installed.

But I have some confusion on configure the Configuring MSCS Node A

on the screen what should enter

SAP system network name

Database network name

Please suggest.

Thanks

Ganesh

Hi,

SAP system network name = hostname of the "SAP" cluster resource

Database network name = hostname of "SQL Instance" cluster resource

these hostnames are NOT the physical hostnames of the two nodes, but are the "virtual" hostnames that will be associated to the correspondig service (SAP or MSSQL) they deliver.

Regards,

MM
