Two Developer Studio installations on the same machine ?

Hi,

How could I run two versions of Developer Studio on the same machine ?

I would like to run 2004s SP08 and 2004 SP16. I've installed both on separate directories, but it seems that the settings for the Studio are in the same location so if I for example change the workspace location in 2004, it will be in use also in 2004s version.

Any ideas ? Maybe running both under different user ?

Kind Regards,

Jari Pakarinen

Hi,

1)Send the shotcut of the studio to desktop

2)Right-click properties

3)Add -data your own workspace location(ex: -data d:\foldename) to the target .

4)Do this for doth the Sapide ie different workspace should be ther to work seperately.

Hi,

Go to Window->Preferences->Workbench->Workspace. There you will see the default workspace for this user.

So if the same user runs different NWDS, the workspace remains same.

So your only option seems to be running them under different users.

But yes, you can follow the steps mentioned in the same dialog box to create shortcuts to IDEs. Create 2 shortcuts for two IDEs according to the steps mentioned.
