What printer are you printing on?

Hi Markus,

We are getting boxes on place of Taiwanese letters

We are using HP Laserjet 4200N printer for printout.

That sounds to me that the printer doesn't know the characters.

By default the HP printers can't print Asian fonts. You have a DIMM for the special fonts installed?

Hi Markus,

Can you please elaborate more on line:

"You have a DIMM for the special fonts installed?"

You need to buy an additional DIMM (looks like memory for a PC) to support printing of Asian fonts on that printer.

Another option is to use frontend printing (assuming this is not being done in batch, where that won't work). Take a look at SAP note 423003. You'll need to make sure that you've installed asian language support in Windows and then use a device of type CNSAPWIN. This will send the output to the Windows frontend and then use a Windows printer driver to get the right output to the printer. We've used this workaround in several cases.
