Hi,

In order to migrate system from 32 bit to 64 bit then you have to perform system copy. For more information, you can check system copy guides.

As far as transports are concerned then yes you can do the transport between system on 32 bit/64 bit.

Check SAP note 192822. Please find extract from this note:

I run a 3 system landscape. Will I still be able to transport in between systems if I do not upgrade all of them to 64-bit?

yes.

The transport environment is not only database bit independent, it is rather than that even database version and even database platform independent. As long as the transport tools are installed in the correct bit-version on each of your systems, there will be no problems in transporting in between R3 systems, where the database runs with different bit-versions.

Thanks

Hi,

Here are your answer to your questions:

there will be no impact on Z developments when you go from 32bit to 64-bit.

ECC 5.0 supports 64-bits.

Yes, you can still use DEV as 32bit and PRD as 64-bit. transports will continue to work with no problems.

but it is better to have you full landscape with the exact same kernel... and same 32/64 bits level.

good luck.

Hi Hten,

If you system is unicode you have use 51031283 CD NW04 SR1 6.40 (U) Kernl MSSQL WIN x86.

If you system is non-unicode you have use 51031282 CD NW04 SR1 6.40 Kernel MSSQL WIN x86.
