Check your environment variable: ORACLE_SID. Is that GRC or SID? It should be set to GRC. This env var and other variables are set in the file .dbenv_<host_name>.csh or .dbenv_<host_name>.sh file depending on which shell OraSID user is defualting to.

Secondly check if spfileGRC.ora or initGRC.ora exists in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs dir.

Your brtools - probably because the environment is wrong- is accessing initSID.ora file.

Also make sure the files .dbenv* for both c shell and Bourne shell are consistent. The database may be up because it was started in non-default shell of ora<sid> user whereas brtools uses default shell which doesn't probably point to Oracle SID GRC.

Your environment is pointing to SID called SID. BRTOOLS is trying to connect to SID not GRC.

Hello

SYSTEM user has the SYSDBA authorization, also tried creating another user and reintegrated again in DP but still error persists

also tried the step-by-step starting up database but there are no error found

As per checking ORA-32004 is related to the parameter remote_os_authent set as per recommendation in sapnote 1431798.

Also tried to recreated spfile still error persists

yes the oracle is pointing to GRC not to SID "sorry for typo error of SID instead of GRC"

HI,

what about this ?

BR0051I BRBACKUP 7.20 (1)

I think the current patchlevel of brtools 7.20 is 10 or 12 ! Update and apply the corresponding sapdba_role.sql.

There is a section in the Upgrade guide, that states to create a symlink in $ORACLE_HOME/lib for brtools.

Did you do that ?

Volker

do you think the following parameters at initGRC.sap has impact on the backup run?

backup_type = offline

backup_dev_type = tape --> do you think we should change it to util_file?

our backup command from DP is issuing this command line

brarchive -c -d util_file -cds -u system/******** returned 3

For using DP for backup, the backup_dev_type should have value util_file.

Hi

1) First remove the entry of this system form DP database as follows:

On the DP server go to directory

C:\Program Files\OmniBack\Config\Server\Integ\Config\SAP

rename following files for your SAP system to something else like

hostname.domain.com%_OB2_GLOBAL to  ... hostname.domain.com%_OB2_GLOBAL.old

and

hostname.domain.com%SID  to  ...  hostname.domain.com%SID.old

and After that

Configure the database template from the DP client which will create new entries in DP server.

Hope this will solve your problem..let us know about it.

regards

Vijay

Hello All,

we are able to change and add some parameters and environment in GRC system. but error still persists.

we add the following environment:

env | grep OB2

OB2BARHOSTNAME=GRCCA101.corp.net

OB2HOSTNAME=GRCCA101.corp.net

OB2APPNAME=GRC

set the following parameters:

backup_dev_type = util_file

backup_type = online_cons

and also tried removing old integration files pointing to other <SID> under .......\Config\Server\Integ\Config\SAP of cell manager and reintegrate it again.

test backup trigger from data protector is still having error seen below:

Since you have moved redolog files to some another location, its showing warning for those files in your local backup.

I would suggest you restart ( stop SAP, database and reboot ) the whole server.

Hello guys,

thanks for all help. our issue has been resolved. issue basically with DataProtector.

the resolution was removing all related integrated file, backup specification in the cell manager and reintegrating the DataProtector to SAP again.

On the first reintegration wont work because there are still integrated files exists.

Thanks for all the help

Have you checked the Recommended Oracle Parameter note?(Check installation guide for Note no OR search SMP).

compare all the parameters defined in your instance and correct them.

Yes, all needed parameters has been set-up and review and it fine.

I have question in mind, because this system was reuse for GRC but still has the same hostname (new SAP system and oracle installation) but the DP client was not reinstalled. What we only did is push the patch for the client for data protector. Do you think we should reinstall the DP client instead of using the old client that has been use to the old SAP system.? also the logs from backup is not registering to the DB12 logs but exists in OS level /oracle/GRC/sapbackup and /saparch? any idea?

Thanks!

Hi

Please check the privileges SYSTEM user in Oracle.

Make sure that SYSTEM user has the sysdba privilege.

If SYSTEM user has sysdba privilege and still your facing the error,

then create one user in oracle and grant sysdba privilege to this new user.

And while configuring DP for integration with SAP system use this new user.

Let us know, whether this has solved your problem or not.

Hi,

it looks like your environment is not quite correct..

SQL> SQL> Connected to an idle instance.

SQL>

SQL> ORA-32004: obsolete or deprecated parameter(s) specified for RDBMS instance

ORACLE instance started.

ORA-01102: cannot mount database in EXCLUSIVE mode

But the database is open....

check your environment..

Did application and database restart, check alert log nothing seems an issue registered in the alert log

the database are open.

no issue encountered during system restart too but when we trigger backup again from DP issue still persist.

Please advise

Hi,

It looks like some wrong _Fix* parameters are set in your system. First try to stop the database manually. If it does not stop then check alert log file and also paste here.

Thanks
