cFolders Exporting

Former Member

Hello All,

We are trying to do a couple of things within ECC and cFolders that we currently can not figure out.

1.) We want to be able to do a mass export from ECC into cFolders. That is to say we want to be able to do a "select all" within CFE02 for a BOM or multiple BOMs and send everything over to cFolders.

2.) We would like the ability to export everything from a specific folder within cFolders to a .zip file (or even a .pdx file). This includes materials, BOMs and documents. Currently we are only seeing functionality to allow the downloading of documents.

Any insight that can be provided on these topics is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Raymond,

Let's say you entered CFE02 with a material, the primary use case. You'll get all related objects displayed in the left hand browser. You can either drag&drop a group of (manually selected, highlighting them first with CTRL > mouse-click) objects you want to export into the export area (those that can be exported of course only), then click "Export Objects", or you can add additional objects after having done this by choosing "Other objects" on the next screen.

As we habe BOM explosion, also lower level BOMs and related materials, documents and MPNs are exported in one go if you chose BOMs as export objects.

2.) We would like the ability to export everything from a specific folder within cFolders to a .zip file (or even a .pdx file). This includes materials, BOMs and documents. Currently we are only seeing functionality to allow the downloading of documents.

Good one. Currently not available in standard, but why don't you create a custom button that allows you to ZIP the content of a whole folder (well, I guess documents only) or all documents currently selected in the folder that does that?

Besides that, there is a mass download capability as well, button "Mass Download" on the Folder level.

Regards, Ulf.
