Background jobs failing -- IDES ECC 6.0 EHP4

Former Member

Hi Experts,

We have installaed IDES 6.0 EHP4 system with SQL Server database. From few days many of the pre-defined jobs are failing in client 800 for different reasons like one for user validity expired and other for check Format "X_65_80" not defined for printer "$WDMR" actually the priter with that name doesnt exist in the system./

Following are the Pre-defined jobs failing:

SAP_CCMS_CENSYS_DISPATCHER

SBAL_DELETE

SWN_SELSEN

ZDG_US

ZIDES_CFM_RFTBDF07

ZIDES_SBAL_DELETE_SLG2_DAILY

ARCHIVE_IDOC_SUB_19960312

ARCHIVE_WORKITEM_SUB_19960313

PROJECT_DOCU_INTRANET

RMCFNEUA

JOB-WOCHE-KREDI

Does these jobs must run/ really need in this IDES system client 800? or I could delete them?. Please suggest the purpose & importance and the next steps how to deal with these jobs.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

Ajay.

Hi,

As such there is no need of job in the IDES system unless and until you have not scheduled some job for specific purpose. Job starting from Z* are started by you. So, please check if they have scheduled for some specific purpose. Other job if don't need can be deleted.

Thanks

Sunny

Hi Sunny,

Thank you so much for the response. This system is a new installation and we have not schedule any jobs that I mentioned with Z*. Those jobs are also predefined in the system as default. After searching I got following applications for those jobs

SAP_CCMS_CENSYS_DISPATCHER --- The CCMS processes central auto-reactions with job

SBAL_DELETE --- To delete application logs using transaction SLG2 or using the program SBAL_DELETE.

SWN_SELSEN --- You use the extended notifications for SAP Business Workflow to inform users about new work items & Select notifications and send them out either immediately or according to the delivery schedules.

ZDG_US --- (Report to the daily running of the data generation and the booking of materials in the DII and account lockout in IDT)

ZIDES_CFM_RFTBDF07 -- The report is purchasing the requested data via the datafeed. & Depending on the Customizing.

Now I am confused whether to delete these jobs or not as these are default not defined by us. Please suggest if any job needs to be there.

Thanks,

Ajay.

If you have not scheduled any of these jobs and if it does not create many impact then you can delete these jobs, and this is IDES system so i cannot see any impact of these jobs. You can delete them

Hi Ajay,

Best way to schedule the SAP* jobs is from SM36. There you will a button called standard job.

You can do a "default scheduling" or you can schedule as you want.

Now, related to Z* jobs, which are not standard SAP jobs.

Please check if those are related to your business and accordingly you can take action.

But my suggestion will be instead of deleting them, you can change their status to scheduled

(SM37 select the job and go to Jobs --> released ->Scheduled).

Hope this clarifies. Let me know if this is helpful.

Rgards,

Sujit.

Sukripa,

Thanks for your information.

I would like to say about one job:SAP_WP_CACHE_RELOAD_FULL.

According to SAP note:1034532, above job is no longer required to run in SAP.

Please check.

Hi friends,

Thank you so much for your responses.

Subhash - we didn't schedule any of these jobs so I don't know the impact but I again schedule standard jobs anyway from new client.

Sujith - The Z* jobs are also came with installation, we didn't schedule any jobs. what do mean by setting the status to scheduled? If I schedule the job will run and fail again. could you please correct me.

Sukripa - Thank you so much for the big response with the list. Could you please confirm that these are not standard jobs that we need to schedule manually as you said or I can just schedule standard jobs so they include these job too in them?

Could you please tell me that where could I find this information of required background jobs in SAP system (jobs sukripa mentioned etc).

Thanks again,

Ajay.

HI Ajay,

I just wanted to mean that you just change the status from "Released" to "Scheduled".

Don't release those jobs with any start condition.

Until you release them with start condition, it wont run.

Hope this clarifies.

Sujit.

Hi Ajay,

You can go to SM36 transaction where you will find a button called "Standard Jobs".

List of SAP standard jobs are there.

You can also check the below link:
