problem with upgrading to sap jco 2.1.7

To upgrade to latest sap jco, I need to replace the old

librfc32.dll from c:\winnt\system32. But when I am trying to delete or overwrite this file, it is saying like access denied and sharing violation respectively. I tried doing the same by closing all the windows and then rebooting. But still can't delete or replace the librfc32.dll file. Can any one of you guys help me regarding this?

Thanks,

Sridhar

Hi,

Try to stop the SAP J2EE engine first before updating the dll.

Good luck, Roelof

Find out what is keeping it open and stop the process.

I hope that you are aware that you no longer need the .dll in the system directory but it has to be in the JCO directory and you have to have a "path" to it.

Now if you have another app that places it in the systems directory you will have to replace it there. There are memory tools that should allow you to find what is keeping a lock on the dll. (did you add it to gacutil?)

You need to shut down that process before you can replace it.
