Hi,

I´ve found two types of archivelog, the system has been creating SIDARCHARXXXX files. After I´ve deactivate/activate the archive_log mode again, the archive logs are ARCXXXX.

Why?

More thanks

Check all the values of archive parameters and correct them(Format, location etc).

But I don´t change anything and bu default the name of the file was SIDARCHARXXXX, I was reset a parameter of the log archive and after that the name of the file are ARC03076.

Jep,

and that is exactly the change you did!

You changed proably

log_archive_dest=/oracle/SID/oraarch/SIDARCH

to

log_archive_dest_1='LOCATION=/oracle/SID/oraarch/'

and that is where "SIDARCH" vanished.

Allthough the parameter suggests to be a directory, in fact it is a PATH-prefix and so

SIDARCH is added to the filename in the first case, allthough it is not obvious.

Dear Ruben,

Please check LOG_ARCHIVE_FORMAT DB parameter.

It seems that archive log is not stopped, a DB restart is neccesary.

Please provide the output of the following command (login to SQLPLUS with orasid user)

sql> archive log list;

Hope it helps.
