FILE to JDBC Adapter

Former Member

Hello, everyone,

I am going through the scenario "FILE to JDBC Adapter using SAP XI3.0" provided by Anirban Ghatak.

/people/sap.user72/blog/2005/06/01/file-to-jdbc-adapter-using-sap-xi-30

One step I don't understand. In step 4, it says '...the action field is hard coded with "insert" value under CONSTANT function'. Is there anybody can tell how I can do this step? Thanks in advance!

Hi Meiying,

Very simple..:)

Create a constant and give its value as insert, and map it to the 'action' field in the target

Thank you very much, Prashanth!

I am really new to XI.

Now I created a constant, it appears in the Layout Mapping area. Then I droped down the "action" node into the area too and map them. Does it sounds OK? Thank you!

Hi Meiyang,

That is nothing, Since we define action as an attribute, XI automatically assigns it an Optional tag..

Hi, Prashanth,

Thanks very much for your instruction. I did not do those mappings you mentioned, especially the most important one map "TABLE". That is why I got error. Now I successfuly activated it. One more question, I see in your screen shot, field "action"'s Occurences is "optional" and has an arrow on the top of the node. How can I get that? Thank you! meiying

Hi,

I am back again. I still have problem on this one. I created an Message Mapping and mapped them as stated in the step4. (I also created a node " constant" and mapped it to "action"). When I try to activate it, it give me an error says "Mapping not sufficiently defined". I see node "TABLE" in the tagart is red, not green. Is there any suggestion? Thanks!

Hi Meiying,

Statements with this action cause table values to be inserted. Therefore, the statement corresponds to an SQL INSERT statement.

Look at this for more info
