Standalone installtion for DR

Dears,

My client planning DR for ECC on Standalone installation,

My question is it possible to go ahead standalone installation for DR as ours ECC System is Distributed landscape with CI, DB and 2Apps.

Is it possible to mapping CI, DB and 2Apps to standalone DR Server?

Kindly give ur suggestion on this.

Hi,

For DR system, you only need to map database so that your database changes will be replicated to DR. There is nothing to sync from CI or App server.

You have to initially restore db of your PRD to remote DR and then start log shipping so that both the database will be in sync.

You mean i need to install standalone system with same SID as of PRD and restore DB of PRD and shippingh log...

Hi,

Yes. But if you are doing activities like kernel upgrade/Database upgrade etc. then you have to do it manually on DR. As these activities updated the contents on the file system not in the database.
