SPAM update from 700/26 to 701/42

Hi All,

I need to update the SPAM/SAINT from 700/26 to 701/42 to upgrade the system from ECC 6.0 to EHP4.Our current Basis and Kernel releases are 700.So here my question is what the dependencies for SPAM update in my scenario? Only upgrading the kernel from 700 to 701 will do or anything else I should do?

Thanks for your response,in that case below is my plan,

1.Update the latest SPAM 700 version

2.Put the latest kernel(7.01) and SPAM 7.01 in the download directory for the EHPI to update.

Do you think will it work?

Yes, It work.

But however you would get the error with TP, before you patch your TP.

no, this will not work.

SPAM 7.01 won't instlal on SAP Netweaver 7.00

you must update to latest SPAM 7.0 for SAPEPHI to work properly... and SAPEHPI will take care of SPAM upgrade to 7.01.

Check that he don't update SPAM to 7.01 on kernel 7.0., He update SPAM 7.00 on kernel 7.00 and then update kernel and spam to 7.01 by EHPI.

However, you can follow these steps, these are easyer:

1. Update kernel to 7.01

2. download lastest version EHPI

3. Put SPAM 7.01 update in download directory

4. start EHPI and follow the guide.

If you want update ECC 6.0 to ECC 6.04, you must apply kernel 7.01.

You have options:

1. The EHPI (Enhacement package installer) install the new kernel and this update the SPAM also.

2. update kernel manually to 7.01, and put the SPAM/SAINT update in the download directory, the EHPI install the SPAM/SPAU update.

3. Update kernel manually first and then update SPAM/SAINT for transaction

Hi,

you cannot implement a SPAM version of 7.01 in a 7.00 system. You need to upgrade your system to 7.01 first.

Install the latest 7.00 SPAM version and perform the upgrade. Once the system is on 7.01 you can implement the 7.01 SPAM version.
