Dear all,
Recently i have configured Early Watch Alert for a Client. The scheduling is done by default.
But the Client wants it to run on day time around 12 PM.
For this what all the changes to be made in Satellite system and Solution Manager...?
Kindly Suggest..
Thank You,
Regards,
Hasan
Hello,
If you have setup correctly, the maintenance package task on the Satellite should run once a day ( this will collect the session data) so it must be scheduled prior to 12 pm. This will run the refresh sessiion task and the EWA task.
So on the day the EWA report needs to be generated these tasks must first run on the Satellite. Once run the data is available on the Solution Manager system. The job that processes it is called SM:EXEC SERVICES. This job must also be scheduled prior to 12 pm on Monday. ( Assuming you want to process as early as possible)
So its both sets need to complete ( be scheduled prior to 12:00pm.) How much before depends on the number of systems.
But a few hours would usually be enough time.
But it is the pair, because you can schedule SM:EXEC SERVICES earlier, or later, but it can't process anything if the SDCCN tasks ont he Satellite haven't completed. Java systems write directly to the Solman BI, so that data should be available when SM:EXEC SERVICES runs, again if SMD is setup correctly.

Paul

Hi
In addtion with Paul's statement, please note this also, you can schedule periodoc job SM:EXEC SERVICES runs in SM37 and deletet the old one.But you are controllng only the start time. But the time for processing the Tasks(service session)vary by different criteria.so you can view or mail the report after each session is processed. if the jon runs 5 min, soo you get the EWA report with in 5 min, But if the job tak 2 hrs, then you get the EWA report after 2 hrs the job starting.
hence keep this also and adjust your timings.
Thanks
Jansi

Hi,
Call SDCCN in SolMan system..GotoSettingsTask specificSession Data CollectionData request--Settings. There you can change the time to capture the session data.
