Hi Pravin,

You can chnage Host Name of your sap server. You can use below steps.

1. You should choose system copy process. Use system copy guide from market place.

2. Run SAPinst.exe and select system copy -> Sourse system and do the Homogenous system copy and create new directoy\ry.

3. you should select system copy -> target system on newly host server and set the path of that directly files.

4. Installation ask again solman key for new sid.

This process is call as R3load process.

you can easily change your host name lilke that.

Hi,

Yes you can change it but you will have to take many things into consideration.

Below are some thing you need to cosider :

- All connected external systems must know the new server name (e. g. Fax, Archiving, BI/BW, CRM, Portal, XI, backup software, SMTP-Server...)

- All RFCs of connected systems must be changed accordingly to reflect the new hostname settings

- DNS settings must be changed (if they use DNS)

- Entries in saplogon.ini (SAPlogon) must reflect the new server name

- If the server is a member of an Active Directory Domain additional steps have to be done (there´s a document on the MS site I can´t find yet unfortunately)

- Chage in profile parameters

- Change in environment of SAP users and DB users

- Change in TNS files and TMS profiles.
