Hi,
We're upgrading MaxDB database from 7.5 to 7.8.01.19 version.
We're using Commvault version 8 SP5 for database backup.
The backup works fine before the MaxDB upgrade.
After the upgrade, I execute the log backup. But the it seems not
reading the BSI.ENV file and backup is just hanging with the following message in DB12:
DBA Action starts:
Timestamp: 20110218090933 Function: slo Object: LOG
SAVE/RESTORE request:
SAVE LOG QUICK TO '
.\pipe\pipe_mem5' PIPE BLOCKSIZE 8 MEDIANAME 'BackLog'
SAVE/RESTORE request accepted:
OK
Then I've read through the instruction from this website:
http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_8/45/74683612e14022e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
I've made sure everything set-up according to the instruction.
The result is the same. When I re-run the log backup, the process is hanging again.
There's not even bsi.in, bsi.err, bsi.out produced after I re-run the log backup.
Please help.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Fausto
Did you enable the parameter "LogBackupToPipe"?
Be aware that this can be quite dangerous, you can't be sure the log is properly backed up because the closing of the pipe will always return "ok", even if the backup was not.
