Hello folks,
Are plant and comp code not regarded as sales org units under SD structure?
Or should it be said that pure SD structure does not contain these 2?
I ask because I received different answers from different sources. So, I check with SDN.
best
Ravi
Hello Ravi,
Company code and plant are the main elements in most of all the functional modules of enterprise structure (SD,MM,WM.FI,CO...)
The relationship between this two is 1:N ( A company code can have N number of plants). Also thses two helps in defining the setup of sales &distribution. Sales organisation in Sales and purchasing organisation on procurement has close assignment between both compnay code and plants.
So , company code and plants are central base of SAP enter[prise structure and they are not module specfic.

Hi
Company Code : Company code is nothing but it is an independent organization unit that represents
subsidiary of company. It has his own set of database tables from which we can drawn out reports
PLANT: Plant is an independent organizational element where we manufacture or kept goods and
services.
Yes you are right when it comes to SD
Sales organisation,
distribution channel and division are SD org structures.
Sales office and sales group are internal org structures
