Hi All,
The online/ offline/ backup is taking very long time. It has happened suddenly, without any cause. Before it was taking only 3 hours and now almost 14/ 16 hours. It's taking to disk backup (with in the server).
Using both DB13 and BRTOOLS for backup..There were no recent hardware change (CPU cores are same) .
No database growth. Its our Development system.
Any body face same problem in past?
I'll appreciate for a quicker response.
Regards,
Suresh

Hello Suresh,
as you are taking disk backup .. what mount options are used for the backup filesystem?
Concurrent or Direct /O mount options can cause such situations ... in general you provided too less information.

Hi,
Altought your resources are the same (cpu, mem etc), the load on the machine might be different for some reason. Have a look at system load. Many different reasons for sudden sys load.
In particular being a dev system many things could happen to create sudden load problems. (test jobs taking a lot of resources, long running Dia's , etc etc.)
Have a good look at your load during the backup, and also try restarting the server to release tied up memory etc.

A number of reasons can cause that.
- is the storage only for this one server or is it shared (SAN)?
- is the machine loaded during the time the backup is running? (jobs)
