How to create PR in ECC using PI in between SRM & ECC

Hello experts,

I have a very interesting requirement, would appreciate your thoughts about how to achieve it

Systems - SRM 7.O , with multiple backends (includes ECC 6.0, 4.6C & PI

Scenario - self service procurement with classic scenario

Requirement-

1. Instead of RFC connection between SRM & ECC (which is standard practice) it is desired by client to have PI in between SRM and ECC

2. We need to create PR / Reservation in ECC by passing the data over to PI i.e. SC in SRM will be passed on to PI and then PR will be created in ECC

Just wanted to check if anyone has done this before, would like to konw -

1. If this can be achieved by standard PI configuration

2. Would this needs a development in SRM & PI side both or only on PI side

Any thoughts, ideas are most welcome.

I know many of you would ask why is such a requirement but unfortunately that is the case and can not be changed. I need to find a soultion for this specific situation only.

Hi,

I guess SRM is hosted in partner network and ERP is in customer network. Only https connection is available and RFC connection is not possible.

System landscape will be like this. You need to implement communication channel, routing condition for multiple backend and message interface in PI.

SRM (RFC) -> PI -> (https) -> PI (RFC) -> ERP.

More challenging parts are how to manage other RFC communication like BBP_GET_STATUS_2, Financial check , remote F4 help, etc.
