Capturing XML failure alerts in SNC

Former Member

Hi Experts,

Is there a way to setup some sort of notification process, when an XML message fails in SCM/SNC ? I know in PI you can capture these alerts, and you could also capture ack alerts. But how do i capture in SCM failed XML messages, when they for example fail because of masterdata setup errors and such.

What i am trying to achieve is to be notified by the system as opposed to viewing sxmb_moni and checking for failed messages.

Thx,

J.

Hi Jurag,

You can activate alert type 7895 (Error in XI Message Processing) and then create Alert Notification in SNC for your user and activate "Email Options".

You should receive email notifications for "error in XI message processing".

So I need to add an entry into the alert type activation screen in spro, right? and what do you mean then by creating alert notification?

If activated, it will not automatically come into the alert monitor on the webui?

You would need to activate the alert type in SPRO.

By default, the alert notification can be seen in SNC web UI. But if you'd like to get email, you need to create a Selection with the corresponding alert type and then "Set Notification.

This way you do not need to check in SNC web UI everytime, instead you get email in your inbox.

Hello Sandeep

I apologies for the bothering, but as I am interested to be notified in case of XML failure, I was looking at your comment, but I need an additional information.

Please could tell me what I have to do, to activate the alert type 7895?

Many thanks for your help.

Hi Juray

Thanks you for your reply.

I tried to do what you suggested, but I got something different.

Going into customizing SPRO --> SNC --> Exception, I see the following group:

1. Alert-Based Rating

- Define Rating Profiles

2. Data Import Controller

- Define Product Activity Check Service Profile

- Set Tolerances for Check Against Simulation

- Update the Quantities and Statuses of ROs and ASNs

I tried to see at "Define Rating Profiles" and found that exist two Alert Groups created by SAP.

Selecting the first one, I noticed that contains 3 Alert type: 11, 12 and 13.

Looking at all the alert types available, I didn't find the alert type 7895.

Not sure, if this difference is due to different SCM version. At the moment we are running SNC in SCM version 5.1

I hope you will be able to help me.

Thanks a lot in advance

Regards

Franco

Hi Franco,

The SPRO path is as follows:

SPRO --> Supply Network Collaboration --> Exceptions --> Alert Type Activation --> Activate Alert Types

Create New entry and add alert type 7895 and SAVE.

Hi Sandeep

As said before, on SPRO, I can see the following:

SPRO --> Supply Network Collaboration --> Exceptions -->

and then

Alert-Based Rating

or

Data Import Controller

I cannot see Alert Type Activation --> Activate Alert Types.

Shall it be due to a missing role on my userID setting ? or different SCM version ? currently we are on SCM 5.1

Thanks and Regards

Hi Franco,

This also exists in 5.1. So i do not see that as a problem.

But i'm not sure if alert type 7895 was available that time.

If you are not able to find it in SPRO, you can go to SM30 and enter table as /SCF/ALERTAH.

Hit Maintain.

Its just another way of calling the same customizing.

Thanks Sadeep for your quick reply, but it seems I am not lucky with this topic.

I tried to open table: /SCF/ALERTAH in SM30, but got following error message:

Table/view /SCF/ALERTAH is not in the Dictionary

Any other suggestions?

Hi Sadeep

As it seems alert 7895 has not been defined within my SNC system, I was wondering whether you could send me how this alert type has been defined into your SNC system.

I was thinking top define is, following the document:

"Creating Custom Alerts and Adding Them to the Alert Monitor in SAP SNC".

Following this document, could you tell me how alert 7895 has been defined, and I wil replicate it, step by step, into my SNC?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards

Franco
