I have been reading online and found some had the same issue and their resolution was as follows:

If you are installing 11g database and hit error u201CFile not foundu2026 WFMLRSVCApp.earu201D ensure that you have downloaded two disks (for software) and both disks are unzipped in same folder.

But I am installing Oracle 11g on SAP and I don't see how this is relevant.

After extracting the SAR files, the following sub directories exist under /oracle/stage/112_64:

client

deinstall

examples

gateways

grid

database

I think I found an OSS note : 1431796.

I am trying the solution in the note, will let you know if its worked.

Symptom:

During Installation OUI reports:

File not found: <OH>/owb/external/oc4j_applications/applications/WFMLRSVCApp.ear

Install log:

INFO: 11/11/10 8:27:51 PM CET: Starting install Install Phase 1 of component Oracle 11g Warehouse Builder Required Files

...

INFO: Exception thrown from action: copyFile

Exception Name: FileNotFoundException

Exception String: File not found

/oracle/QO1/112_64_11202/owb/external/oc4j_applications/applications/WFMLRSVCApp.ear

Exception Severity: 2

Cause:

The 11.2 Database software consists of 2 parts. Only part 1 was extracted to the stage. The 2nd part was not extracted.

Solution:

Extract also part 2 of the database software.

I only downloaded s/w 51040091_1 to 51040091_8.

But I think I also have to download and extract 51038805_1 to 51038805_7.

Hi,

I did so today with only 51040091_*

Allthough I am currently stuck at linking the SW due to a missing AIX linker patch,

the entire copy was done successfull.

May be your staging area was full when you extracted the *.SAR files?

Hmm.. That's strange. I see we have enough space on the directories.

11.73 gb on /oracle/stage and 6.78gb on /oracle/stage/112_64

cgunx231:oranwd 117> du -g /oracle/stage

11.73 /oracle/stage

cgunx231:oranwd 119> du -g /oracle/stage/112_64

6.78 /oracle/stage/112_64

The note says this, so I thought may be I had to download the 51038805_1 to 51038805_7

Symptom:

During Installation OUI reports:

File not found: <OH>/owb/external/oc4j_applications/applications/WFMLRSVCApp.ear

Install log:

Did you miss to extract one of the SAR files ?

I think I did.

I downloaded the 51040091_1 to 51040091_8 (total 8 files) again and extracted them in to /oracle/stage directory.

Total of 7 SAP files, OR111264.SAR to OR711264.SAR were created.

I rerun the Installer and it ran just fine. Thanks for your help.

Did you get past the link binaries?

I am Installing the Current Patch Set for 11.2.0.2

I read the README.txt file for the Opatch and I have JDK.

I have unzipped the OPatch_11201_Generic_v3.zip file to oracle/<DBSID>/112_64/ and when I try to apply it, I get the below error:

cgunx231:oranwd 159> opatch apply

Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Yes,

for the linker Bug this thing was needed: IZ88711SP2 Ifix for IZ88711@6.1TL6SP2

You missed to change to ORACLE_HOME prior your OPatch call.

> Oracle Home : /oracle/NWD/112_64

is wrong !

This is only the path used for running the application, not the path where rthe Software is installed..

The "real" path to be used when running the bundle apply would be

Oracle Home : /oracle/NWD/11202

Check Note 1431795. You should also not use OPatch but MOPatch to apply the SBP.

Prceed as described in the README of the SBP -> The current one dated last week!

There is an OPATCH and a MOPatch inside it as well and the MOPatch is even newer than the one from SAPNET.

Hope this helps

Hello Volker,

I am upgrading another DV2 box to oracle and I got this error when running the s/w OUI,

at the lining binaries phase.

Is the same error you got? because of hte missing AIX linker patch?

Error in invoking target 'agent nmb nmo nmhs' of makefile '/oracle/DV2/112_64/sysman/lib/ins_emagent.mk'. See '/oracle/oraInventory/logs/installActions2011-03-02_02-31-16PM.log' for details.

Or you think this is something different?

Please help!

Volker,

It actually worked!

Its the same issue , the missing AIX linker patch.

Thanks for mentioning it earlier!!!
