EarlyWatch Configuration

HI Experts,

I searched a lot, but couldn't get resolution to my issue.

My systems and other configurations are in place. HTTP Services are activated as per SPRO documentation. Hostfile entry and FQDN are also maintained. Ports are open and I can do telnet to FQDN. Still when I run Setup EarlyWatch Alert, an error message appears -

503 Service Unavailable

Failed to resolve the name of server htlssolm.itcwelcomgroup.in to connect

Is there any other pre-requisite to check?

Thanks,

Sabita

Hello,

You should test if you can ping vmw3874.wdf.sap.corp from the OS level.

If you can't its network configuration.

When you say your HOSTFILE and FQDN are maintained, you mean your hosts file and the icm/host_name_full parameters have been maintained? Because icm/host_name_full needs to be maintained (RZ10), and is sometimes overlooked.

Thanks friends for your reply. All these configurations are done, but I guess IE configuration is overlooked. I will check and let you know.

Hello Sabita,

If you are using MS IE8 you need to be using SAPGUI 720.

I would imagine you would get a similar error with transaction solma_ewa_admin ( which is EWA Setup via DSWP)

This application is a WEBDYBPRO application, which means it uses HTTP.

You should also be able to navigate via Solman_workcenters, but again this is HTTP and it seems you have some issues

with HTTP services. You may be able to test a similar service in SICF, where you can get to the EWA Admin/Setup.

Hi Sabita,

When you right click on the page, do you get the same port number that you are using in your telnet test?

Are you able to ping that hostname from a command prompt?

Was the instance restarted?

As the previous reply stated, please check rz11 and ensure icm/host_name_full is set correctly.

Check whether the services are active. If not then please

activate them:

SPRO IMG ->Solution Manager ->Configuration ->Basic Settings ->

Standard Configuration of Basic Settings ->Solution Manager ->

HTTP Services ->Activate Solution Manager Services
