Relationship Type and Layout Groups

Hi all,

I am new to SNC. Please explain the use of "Relationship Type" and "Layout Groups" in the configuration of Business Partner Relation and also the attributes of the Business Partner Relationship that are affected beacuse of this.

Addition to what nikhil mentioned, it is basically to simplify data maintenance

You can merge individual BP roles into a BP role grouping. In this way it is possible to create a business partner in a BP role grouping and thus in the BP roles belonging to this grouping.

Example: From the point of view of SAP BP, the customer in the classical area of FI has the BP roles invoice recipient, payer, dunning recipient and correspondence recipient.

If you want to manage and maintain a customer (debtor) with the help of SAP BP, the best option is to select a BP role grouping that incorporates the above-mentioned BP roles.

Hi Arun,

There are two type of business partner:

1) Business partner of type Organization which represents Company

2) Business partner of type Person which corresponds to employee/person of a company.

Relationship category "Is SNC User Of /Has SNC User" is use to connect a business partner of type Person to a business partner of type Organization.

You can assign several business partners of type Person to each business partner of type Organization but you must assign only one business partner of type Organization to a business partner of type Person.

Grouping is use for number range for business partner creation.

Number range can be external number range for supplier business partner and internal for customers.

Summary:

Relationship category is use to connect a business partner of type Person to a business partner of type Organization and Grouping is use for number range for business partner creation as per your business requirements.
