pricing condition types

Hi Gurus,

I need to clarify on manual adjustment of pricing.

1. what determines that a condition type for pricing can be added manually if they are not proposed automatically?

2. To set a condition type as mandatory, is it to set it in pricing procedure config screen or in the condition type config screen itself? ( I have no access to SAP system). I have created condition records but seems like its not in that screen. Also checked the condition type spro screen and setting does not seem to be there.

3. To confirm, if set mandatory, it means a condition type is implied to be a manually entered condition type and without any value entered, the doc cannot be saved.

4. To confirm, if set as manual, even when there is no value entered for this condition type in the doc's condition screen , the doc can still be saved if this condition type is not set as mandatory.

5. To confirm : A condition type is set as manually entered and not a proposed condition type in the condition type config screen setting : 'manual entries'.

Have a nice day.

1. what determines that a condition type for pricing can be added manually if they are not proposed automatically?

Response: Condition type defintion (T Code V/06) Under "Changes that cad be made..." you can use option "manual entry has priority" or leave it blank. This was you can change the condition type value in order or add it manually if the condition record is missing. If you mark this condition type as "Manual" in the pricing procedure ( T Code V/08) then you should enter the condition ONLY manually in the order.

2. To set a condition type as mandatory, is it to set it in pricing procedure config screen or in the condition type config screen itself? ( I have no access to SAP system). I have created condition records but seems like its not in that screen. Also checked the condition type spro screen and setting does not seem to be there.

Response:you shoud mark a particular condition as "mandatory" in the pricing procedure.

3. To confirm, if set mandatory, it means a condition type is implied to be a manually entered condition type and without any value entered, the doc cannot be saved.

Response:: Marking as "Mandaotry" doesnt mean the condition type is processed manually. In the pricing procedure you have options as R - Required, M - Manual or S - Statistical. If a Mandatory condition is missing during order processing, system will issue warning message."Mandatory condition missing"

4. To confirm, if set as manual, even when there is no value entered for this condition type in the doc's condition screen , the doc can still be saved if this condition type is not set as mandatory.

Response: If a manual condition is missing in order, you can still save the order without any problem.

5. To confirm : A condition type is set as manually entered and not a proposed condition type in the condition type config screen setting : 'manual entries'.

Response:Yes

3. To confirm, if set mandatory, it means a condition type is implied to be a manually entered condition type and without any value entered, the doc cannot be saved.

- When the condition type is set as mandatory it can be entered manually or it can be maintained in VK11 and then the system can pull from it. When there is no record for the conditoin type which is set as mandatory, still the document can be saved but can't be processed further. This is because the missing pricing is set in incompletion log.

4. To confirm, if set as manual, even when there is no value entered for this condition type in the doc's condition screen , the doc can still be saved if this condition type is not set as mandatory.

- Yes

5. To confirm : A condition type is set as manually entered and not a proposed condition type in the condition type config screen setting : 'manual entries'.

- Yes, if the value is set as Not possible to process manually then the codition value can't be entered manually.

1. what determines that a condition type for pricing can be added manually if they are not proposed automatically?

This depends on settings in V/06 and in V/08. In V/08 pricing procedure, if the condition type is checked as manual, then the value should be added manually. Also the value defined for the field manual entries in V/08 of the condition type also determines whether that condition value can be added manually or not.
