My SAP Kernel is 6.4, Oracle 9i, HP-UX. The database server will be upgraded to Oracle 10g.

In order to be able to run online table reogran with LONG column (LONG-LOB migration), according to to SAP Note 988336, I have to run the Support Package SAPKB64019, but I don't know how to handle the down loaded file : KB64019.CAR, what is it ? How to execute this CAR file ?

Do you have BASIS support there? If yes, contact them and let them do that (If that is required as per note).

*I don't think this is required to upgrade your DB from 9i to 10g (Infact 10g's support is also going to end soon)

Hi,

The CAR file is an archive containing *.ATT and *.PAT files.

ATT is attribute and PAT is the actual package containing the correction instructions.

Uncar or decompress using the SAPCAR command with 'xvf' option.

SAPCAR would be available in the ..\usr\sap\<sid>\DV...\exe directory of you operating system.

Further I suggest to go through the document:

http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/BCUPGOCSSPAM/BCUPGOCSSPAM.pdf

It mentions extracting the CAR packages, loading and applying the patch via SPAM tool onto the SAP system.
