Budget commitment twice

Dear Experts,

We have carried forward budgets, first carried forward 2010 commitments(A) to 2011, then carry forward 2010 available budget(B) to 2011,

Now its shows available 2011 budget as (B-Y) which is wrong logically, reason being, 2010 commitments(A) is already committed from 2010 & now its again committing from 2011 budget which is carry forward from 2010(2010 available budget cant be used in full in 2011, since assigned amount is there for 2010 commitment value)

Is there any reason behind this & is there any standard setting to overcome this situation??... Please advice.

Hi Sam,

I am not FI-CO expert but believe that if commitments are moved to next year, then related budget in previous year should be free and we should be able to move that free budget also to next year. I found a link regarding this in SAP help, may be it will help you-

I tested it... it works in that way you have told....nothing to change, standard behavior is very logical & no double commitment happen.
