Hi
What is the difference between a temporary key figure created in the Planning book maintenance(key figure attributes tab) and the auxiliary key figure..
Could you pls share your ideas..Thanks
To the best of my knowledge auxillary KF and temporary Kf are the same - you lose the data in this key figure as soon as you get out of the interactive planning session or load another material.
If you look in the key figure attributes tab in /n/sapapo/sdp8B you can clearly understand the difference btw a normal key figure and an auxillary keyfigure. For a key figure you can see attribute values such as key figure type and if it is an order series key figure you will see the key figure function. But for an auxillary key figure you wont even be able to enter a key figure type.
Thanks

Hi
I think you are confusing the concept of temporary variables in macros with temporary key figures. As the name implies a temporary variable is a variable that is used to store a value temporarily and this is what is used in a macro . The temporary variable is just like a variable field that is used in an ABAP program.
A temporary key figure or an auxillary key figure is something that you use in a planning book (and also in macros) to display a value temporarily. Here is an example , lets say you want to display the value of actual days of supply or target stock level for a given CVC so that your planner can make decisions based on that . But you dont want to back up the value of days supply and store it in the live cache . If this is your requirement then you can use an auxillary or temporary key figure to display the value of days supply or stock level.
An example for the usage of temporary variable is as follows. Lets say in your macro you want to get the sum of days supply over the entire horizon and do some calculation based on that then your syntax in the macro will be
temporary variable TEMP = sum ( auxillary key figure "daysof supply") over the entire horizon.
Hope the usage is clear now.
Thanks
