Comonent Configuration dosent makes any difference to UI element

Hi Experts,

I am trying to disable a button "Change Approver" in WD Component /SAPSRM/WDC_DO_APV_EXT in SRM 7.0 .

I created a new component configuration and chose Activeted = NO and FINAL for the button but its still active in Portal.

Then I also tried doing same in one of the given standard component config /SAPSRM/WDCC_DO_APV_ITM_OVR_OFF , but still the button is Active.....

What steps are required for changes in configuration to take effect in Portal ?

I gues value of configuration field in the block Configuration of Root Component is empty.

do one thing.

1. right click on the application name and choose create/change configuration.

2. Now in the newly opened window on the topleft give the configuration name (name that is under the applciation name )

3. then select change

4. In the right hand side one block will be there. with name Configuration of Root Component.

5. there i guess your field configuration is empty. here give the comfiguration name that is displyed under comp configuration

in SE80. or you can use F4 also.

6 Now click on save in the left hand side bottom.

then save it in the desired package or local object what ever you want.

then test your configuration.

it will work.
