Characteristic results cannot be recorded for inspection lot

Dear Sir

I have a material X.In the inspetion set up ,only inspection type 01 is maintained.In the inspection type in material master following check boxes are ticked

1.Post to inspection setup

2.Skips Allowed

3.Automatic UD

4.Serial numbers poss.

Then i created PO for the material then I did MIGO.The material came into Quality inspection.A lot was generated.The status of the

lot is REL CALC SPRQ

When i try to do the result recording system is giving me message

Characteristic results cannot be recorded

When i went to do the diagnosis it is showing me the following details

Diagnosis

You cannot record any characteristic results for this inspection lot. The material master has been set up for the existing inspection type in such a way that results recording is not supported.

Procedure

Confirm defects for this inspection lot or select another inspection lot in which you can confirm the characteristic results.

How i can do the result recording.Please guide

Hi, here first objective is to remove the existing stock from Quality.

To do this,

1. first cancel the material doc,

2. then cancel the existing lot.

Once the above steps are done, then do GR against the PO.

You can manually create a new inspection lot so you can record the results. But you will have to process the stock via the original inspection lot.

In QM view Inspection setup->Inspection type>click on "Check Char" .

You can able to do RR from Next Inspection lot onwards.

Hi,

It is not possible for existing lot , but you can do RR from next lots by again creating PR .
