Hello,

I am going to try read directory on Intel server from iSeries via QNTC.

I created on Intel server the same user and Password like iSerie.

Unfurtunatly, the procces work when I use "wrklnk" on 5250 screen, but it doesn't work wtih transaction AL11 from SAP.

Do you have some way to help us.

Thank you.

Hello,

We are progressing. Now we can see a file on Intel Server, but we cannot read it.

We suppose that we have a problem wtih a security. On iSeries or Intel ?

For information, the password for SIDnn is SAPnnPWD.

Thank you for help.

Hi Bruno

We use it on alot os servers and it works great...

Yes, the read/write would be controlled by the permissions of SAPnn user on the Intel System...

And as everyne suggested, make sure the passwords are in sync...

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for yours answers.

I have done some tests wtih SIDOFR. In this case, I see the Intel server and directory, but i don't see the file on it

Wihy we use SIDOFR ? Because, I don't know the password of SIDnn ( by default by install SAP ). Can I change it by 5250 command ? What is the consequences ?

Have a nice day.

Hello Bruno,

the user <SID><nn> is being used in that case. You need to specifiy a matching password for both the Windows user and the IBM i user profile.

In case the password is unknown, you may be using the default password for that IBM i user profile.

Please see the corresponding SAP Installation Guide, section Ensuring User Security, in order to find the default password. It's recommended to change the default password.

Hello Bruno,

as it is anyway described in the installation guide:

The default for SIDnn is SAPnn

... otherwise, you have to change all in sync and you are fine as Marco pointed out ...

Hello Bruno,

which user did you create on windows and check the password ?

Was it sidofr, sidadm or sidnn ?

SAP typically uses sidnn only ...

In general, your approach works and is used by several customers.

Do you get an error message - or what do you mean with "it doesn't work"?
