Delivery scheduling

Hi Gurus,

Regarding delivery scheduling, could you advise on the following please :

1. Where should Backward scheduling be de-activated?

2. Can both forward and backward scheduling be turned off? If Replenishment lead time is turned on, does it mean both scheduling is turned off or scheduling cannot be turned off, either forward or backward has to be active?

regards

Hi,

Use tcode OPU3.

this is the place from where the real production scheduling is happening. based on backward/forqard or both.

If you select backward, the system will consider first on backward scheduling - if the system does able to give you the availabilyt on the said date, then the system automatically calcculate the forward scheduling.

If you select forward scheduling, the system will always checks the forward schduling.

thanks

Hi Gurus,

To conclude, I need to confirm that

1. when replenishment lead time is set or used, the delivery scheduling (backward or forward) is not called or used as the replenisment lead time is used as the Material availability date.

When replenishment lead time is used, the system only takes that time for calculating material available date. Note that in order to use the replenishment time, in t.code OVZ9, the field Check without RLT must be unchecked.

Dear Shiva,

So, is it right to say that when Replenishment lead time (RLT) is used, backward scheduling is run to get an initial material avail date and from this date, the replenishment lead time is added to this date to derive the final material avail date?

Or in this case, no backward scheduling is run as the SAP system assumes the materials will be provided by the end of the RLT, as stated in the online help, which did not say about backward / forward scheduling.

Also, is it right to say that in this case, no availability check will be run since the SAP already Assumes Material will be available by the end of RLT?

Thanks.

Let me put like this;

The system checks availability only upto the end of the replishment time. This means, during availability check, if the mateiral availability date (using backward scheduling) falls within replishment time and if there are ATP quantities available, then the system can confirm the quantities. If there are no quantities available, then the system uses replishnishment lead time to find the material availability date. If the material availability date falls after replishnishment lead time, then the system assumes the quantities will definitely available on that date.

Hope this clarifies. For example on how the system calculates the dates, read the link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/93/744b8a546011d1a7020000e829fd11/content.htm
