MDM Catalog 3.0

Hi

This is a tech/functional question. We have been asked by functional team to install MDM Catalog 3.0.

We already have SRM, ECC, Portal and business packages are installed on Portal.

I have briefly reviewed the documentation for MDM catalog 3.0 installation and they seem to point towards installing MDM 7.1 along with MDM Catalog 3.0.

Can SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 be installed on the SRM or Portal system as an add-on ? and are these components a must

MDM Server

MDM Import Server (if you want to automate the data import)

MDM Console

MDM Data Manager

MDM Import Manager

MDM Workflow (if you want to use workflow)

MDM CLIX (if you want to use command line interface for most operational MDM Console commands)

Before I do a deep dive I just wanted to understand the scope of it. Thanks for any tips and suggestions.

Hi,

If your client wants to use Catalog component in SRM, you need to install MDM in your landscape.

As you mention already, below component are must for SRM MDM catalog 3.0 (MDM 7.1):

MDM Server

MDM Import Server (if you want to automate the data import)

MDM Console

MDM Data Manager

MDM Import Manager

MDM Workflow (if you want to use workflow)

MDM CLIX (if you want to use command line interface for most operational MDM Console commands)

In addition, you have to use PI / XI for master data exchange between SRM and MDM system.
