Is it compulsory to setup own SAProuter to connect SAPnet R/3 frontend?

Dear Experts,

Is it compulsory to setup our own SAProuter in order to connect to SAPnet R/3 frontend?

If it's not, what should I key in at the "SAProuter at customer site" section OSS1?

I'm trying to setup RFC connection to SAPnet R/3 frontend thru SAPSERV7 (IP address : 194.39.134.35) without any VPN or SNC.

Does anyone know what are the right settings?

regards,

Abraham

Hi

Please refer the this thread [SAP R3 Front end without SAPRouter|;

and the read the sap note [33135-OSS1 info|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=0000033135&nlang=E] this clearly states why you need router to connect it and includes configuration steps too.

Please check.

Hi All,

If I have to setup our SAProuter, which type of connection should I use, VPN, SNC or Frame relay connection?

As far as I understand, different type of connection has different methods of SAProuter setup guide.

I have a server running both SAP ECC6 and Solution Manager, which is behind a Firewall (Hardware). I plan to setup the SAProuter in the same server.

Which HOST name and IP address should I use for OSS1 parameter?

I think it's not compulsory, however highly suggested.

Check the following note 30289.
