Dual Stack System - kernel files are same for both stack ?

Dear All,

In a dual stack environment, for example i have the following path :

D:\usr\sap\P10\DVEBMGS00\exe

D:\usr\sap\P10\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64

D:\usr\sap\P10\SCS01\exe

After I download the SAPEXE & SAPEXEDB files from SAP Marketplace, do I need to extracts in all three path as above ? Which meant, ABAP Stack and JAVA Stack are using the same kernel patch ?

Best Regards,

Ken

Hi,

Once you extract the 2 SAR files, paste them into the 2nd folder ie., usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64 folder.

Both ABAP and Java stack will use the same kernel. Ensure the system is down while patching kernel and is then brought up after the patching.

Dear Soujanya,

Do you meant that I can ignore the following path:

D:\usr\sap\P10\SCS01\exe

D:\usr\sap\P10\DVEBMGS00\exe

The kernel files will be replicated from D:\usr\sap\P10\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64 to the above path when starting up?

Best Regards,

Ken
