Hi there,

Our SRM Team would like to know how to convert the logical name of source system in the table "Define Objects in Backend System (Purch. Reqs, Reservations," from Development system to Quailty system when they trasnport that objects via Trasnport control.

For an example, Currently that table is definied with Development system of ECC system as Source system. DEVCLNT100 in SRM Development system, and all of these are captured in a transport and when we import this table into SRM QA systems, the source system entry needs to changed from DEVCLNT100 to QASCLNT100? where do you make this settings so during the transport import these entries gets converted?

Please advice.

Thanks in Advance.

Kumar

Kumar,

I would recommend you to go through following PDF file available on server marketplace. It covers the SAP best practice to handle the Logical system and GUI ID at record level.

Also as recommended by Muthu, most of the SRM consultant prefers to open the system and perform these changes as manual changes to the respective clients.

File name: Set up, Transport and Copy SRM Server 5.5

You can even try Google search.

Generally Logical system name settings can be done by open a client and do the changes.

you need to request basis team to open a client for 10-15 minutes and make necessary changes and ask then to close the client immediately..

or there is a trick some people do - but below method little danger..

enter as QASCLNT100 in dev system and transport to quality .

and later they can delete the entry in dev ..

Hi Muthu,

It does not looks like source system column is modifiable, Source system field is grayed out. How does other companies make changes like that?

Please advice.

Hi

open a client by request to BASIS, and do the necessary fresh changes rather transport.

is that the only possible and best practice way of doing it? Any other suggestions?
